Cataloging: the creation, use and management of machine-readable bibliographic records according to nationally accepted technical standards; using MARC, AACR2, OCLC, and LC classification and subject headings and LC name and subject authorities, and classifying items using DDC23.

Creating and managing the library’s public web site driven by WordPress. Additionally responsible for the creation and maintenance of the staff intranet web presence, driven by Drupal, to assist in improving staff communication and efficiency. Drawing from my software development background and training, responsible to actively explore web programming and technology trends and assessing their application to and suitability for our library. Responsible to assist colleagues to be self-sufficient web authors on the library web site.

Layout and editing for bimonthly Library newsletter using Adobe InDesign CS6.

Providing reference service to patrons (in person and on the phone); assisting library patrons of all ages in the selection and use of library materials; and assisting with the use of library or patron owned technology on an “as needed” basis.

Provided help desk support for Goldmine 5.0 for sales staff, including installations (local and remote) and ensuring client/server compatibility with main Goldmine server. I designed software for corporate staff using Microsoft Office and Visual Basic. I was responsible for designing, developing and implementing software in an R&D environment; including development software, real-time multi-tasking application software, and diagnostics. I was involved in the development of test strategies. I assisted in the development of software to stream video over a network in a Win 32 environment; sockets (Winsock) and Network programming, Microsoft Visual C++ development environment, C++, C, Java, Linux.
